While stress may be a part of life, life is a lot these days and the many intersecting stressors of our time can often feel like too much to cope with. We will discuss concepts of coping, capacity, and resilience, and we will engage in activities to strengthen these resources in order to better support ourselves and those around us. This workshop will aim to prioritize experiential learning, so that participants leave with a felt sense of resilience and a little bit more groundedness following our time together.
Claire Peace(she/her) is a born-and-raised Hamiltonian, trained as a Social Worker and currently providing psychotherapy at Valley Centre for Counselling in Dundas. Prior to this role, she worked as a Child and Youth Counsellor first and later a Social Worker in the Halton Catholic District School Board for over ten years. She approaches her work with an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens, believing that building resilience is as important as telling the truth about why it can be so hard!
